Position Overview

The Mobile Plant Operator is responsible for the proficient operation of various mobile and static machinery in compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines set forth by Heidelberg Materials AG.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the Loading Shovel and other mobile equipment as directed by site management, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep of mobile and static machinery to maintain optimal operational conditions.
  • Complete daily inspection reports detailing the condition of mobile plant equipment.
  • Report any issues or defects to the Production Supervisor promptly.
  • Engage in additional tasks as assigned by site management to support operational efficiency.
Safety and Compliance

The role demands strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including:

  • Adhering to the company’s health and safety policies and the Quarry Regulations 1999.
  • Ensuring all operations align with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Participating in training and development programs to enhance safety knowledge and operational skills.
Qualifications
  • Certification by EPIC for mobile plant operation is required.
  • NVQ Level 2 in mobile plant operations is necessary following EPIC completion.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations is essential.
  • Good general education is required to comprehend and implement safety and operational regulations effectively.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: £12.95 per hour, based on experience, with additional productivity bonuses and overtime opportunities.

Work Hours: 39.5 hours per week.
