Workshop Operations Manager

Workshop Controller
Job Summary:
Alexander Dennis is seeking a skilled Workshop Controller to oversee the efficient operation of our workshops, ensuring exceptional service to our valued customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising vehicle repairs, optimizing labor capacity, and controlling indirect costs to maximize efficiency and profit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the workshop operates at a high level of labor efficiency.
- Communicate production requirements to all staff.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe operating environment.
- Liaise with Parts staff and Sales Engineers/Commercial Management for timely delivery of completed work.
- Keep customers informed on repair progress.
- Manage administration for easy costing and invoicing.
- Comply with and promote company Health & Safety and ISO Quality policies.
- Be reliable, flexible, and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- Experience in vehicle repairs through on-the-job training and/or professional qualifications.
- Full driving license.
- Vocational PSV or HGV licenses an advantage.
- Experience in PCV or HGV repair and maintenance environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Management experience with strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to plan to meet delivery deadlines.
- Good understanding of bus coach and commercial vehicle systems.
- Compliance with vehicle maintenance procedures and VOSA Standards.
- Conversance in body/mechanical repair techniques and vehicle electrical systems.
