Job Description

Careers in Design is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Workshop Manager to join their production team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of production build, general workshop responsibilities, and on-site work as required.

This is a hands-on role that requires a strong background in carpentry and construction, including set build and props, scenic and paint knowledge, spray painting, fibreglassing, and sewing. You will be working with a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality projects to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Workshop Manager in all aspects of production build and general workshop responsibilities
  • Assist with on-site work as required, including installation and lead carpenter duties
  • Operate CNC & Laser cutter equipment, vinyling, and other production tools
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in carpentry and construction, including set build and props, scenic and paint knowledge
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Driving license
