Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Project Controls professionals specializing in Planning, Governance, Reporting, Risk, and Controls. The successful candidate will oversee a diverse Project Controls team, collaborating closely with the client's Project Manager and supply chain to establish a realistic baseline and implement effective controls to monitor progress, address issues, and mitigate delays, ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a comprehensive breakdown structure, integrating data from all controls functions.
  • Facilitate and lead planning sessions and workshops to develop the master project/program schedule baseline, ensuring realistic timelines.
  • Understand procurement principles, gathering lead times within the schedule to prioritize the ordering of materials and equipment to meet installation deadlines.
  • Oversee the risk management process, including qualitative and quantitative assessments to enhance cost and schedule predictability.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring all key stakeholders approve the baseline and receive regular progress updates.
  • Implement a robust change management process, ensuring that schedule, interfaces, costs, risks, and changes are effectively managed.
  • Guide and influence the principal contractor and client, collaborating to drive project delivery and achieve schedule and cash flow KPIs.
  • Control costs utilizing knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, and procurement principles.
  • Maintain the master program by applying quality checks to updates from the client and principal contractor.
  • Lead the change management workflow, providing a platform for tracking, monitoring, and approving changes in a timely manner.
  • Identify trends and root causes of deviations from the baseline using lead and lag indicators, effectively reporting any remedial actions to ensure optimal value for the client.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering controls within a major project/program environment, preferably in sectors such as Defence, Data Centres, Life Sciences, Pharma, R&D facilities, Industrial, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Logistics.
  • Experience in a comparable specialist sector.
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-functional controls team.
  • Proficiency in controls and general software applications, including Primavera (P6), Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management practices.
  • Experience leading collaborative workshops.
  • Dependable with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills, quick decision-making abilities, and capacity to meet project deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required, even with increased remote working options.
