Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Oncology Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated nurse to work as a part of the Skin Cancer Oncology service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nursing care and support to skin cancer patients and their carers, under the direction of the Lead Cancer Nurse Specialist.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual treatment programmes throughout the illness trajectory.
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and psychological support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a resource and contribute to the education and training of other healthcare professionals as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in cancer, palliative care or the speciality.
  • Proven knowledge in relevant speciality.
  • Proven evidence of Continuous personal and professional development.
  • NMC Registered.
  • First level degree in related subject or undertaking a Degree Pathway or the equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or equivalent relevant subject or experience /working towards.
