Part Time Community Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Part Time Community Support Specialist. This role is crucial in supporting children and families at Buddies Childcare and across the Glen Park Primary school community, enhancing their educational experience and strengthening communications between home and school.
The successful candidate will work directly with children, their parents/carers, and other agencies and services, liaising with parents around home and school-based issues as appropriate. You will have daily involvement with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with families, offering listening, advice, and guidance to develop parenting skills and encourage active participation in their child's learning.
- Improve communication quality between the school and home, enabling parents and carers to support the school in maintaining good behaviour and attendance.
- Deliver parenting programmes to support families within the school community and organize events to provide wider opportunities.
- Promote a positive, optimistic attitude to learning and achievement within the school, acting as a role model for children, families, and the wider community.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children aged 2-11.
- Knowledge of the local and national agenda relating to safeguarding and emotional health and wellbeing.
