About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Cancer Research UK. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting the Marketing, Fundraising & Events (MFE) directorate in achieving their strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Partnering: Develop and maintain influential relationships with key stakeholders within the MFE directorate, including Heads and Directors.
  2. Leadership Team Participation: Participate in the MFE leadership team, bringing data-driven insights to people/business issues and holding leaders accountable for the effective delivery of the people agenda.
  3. HR Solutions: Partner with leaders to deeply understand the operation, strategy, and priorities of the business and constraints on performance to identify targeted, effective, and sustainable HR solutions.
  4. HR Interface: Act as the primary HR interface with MFE to understand their issues and needs.
  5. Collaboration: Proactively link with colleagues in the Centres of Excellence across HR to co-design and support key interventions and ensure MFE has the appropriate expert support.
  6. Stakeholder Relationships: Establish sustainable and influential working relationships with key stakeholders within HR, including the HR Leadership Team, business leaders, and peers.
Core HR Activity and Partnering with HR Specialist Teams
  1. Engagement and Performance: Utilize tools such as engagement surveys and manager insight to drive performance, provide feedback, and challenge the status quo within HR.
  2. HR Processes: Facilitate and coordinate key HR processes within HR departments and MFE, such as EDI discussions, Annual Salary Reviews, Talent/Leadership Programme nominations, etc.
  3. Pay Positioning: Collaborate closely with Reward to ensure appropriate pay positioning and benchmarking data is available for MFE.
  4. Employee Relations: Ensure senior Employee Relations matters in MFE are dealt with robustly and pragmatically, acting as a point of escalation.
  5. Coaching and Development: Coach both ER Advisors and senior managers in MFE in managing people scenarios in line with HR processes and policies.
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who has built influential stakeholder relationships in fast-paced medium to large organisations. You will have a strong knowledge and application of organisational design, employment law, and HR policies, principles, and procedures. You will also have successfully collaborated with specialist HR functions to deliver a seamless HR service.

You will have generated, interpreted, and presented HR analytics to drive insights, strategic thinking, practical solutions, and tangible action. You will have managed business change projects through the application of strong project management skills.
