We are in search of a dedicated and seasoned professional to take on a crucial role in advancing Scotland's Capital City towards its goal of establishing a smaller, modern, more efficient, and carbon-neutral property portfolio. As the Senior Capital Works Manager, you will oversee the execution of asset management work planning across the Council's operational property assets, including educational institutions and service depots.

Leading a team of four, you will spearhead the evaluation of asset condition assessments to formulate a structured and prioritized works program aimed at enhancing property performance and longevity while minimizing Health & Safety hazards. Key responsibilities will encompass financial oversight and reporting of program expenditures, as well as ensuring compliance with appropriate procurement processes. In this capacity, you will provide an essential service that guarantees value and ensures the Council's estate remains a secure environment for work and learning.

You will also contribute to the Council's broader strategic property planning initiatives, including supporting the implementation of the Corporate Property Strategy. The Council is a leader in low-carbon building design and retrofitting, and you will play a pivotal role in advancing the energy retrofit agenda, facilitating the wider decarbonization of the Council's property portfolio.

Situated within the Strategic Asset Planning division, the post holder will collaborate closely with colleagues from various disciplines within the built environment, including facilities management and design teams, while also engaging with other Council services.
