About the Role

Smiths Detection, a leading global company in the design and manufacturing of detection equipment, is seeking a highly skilled Commercial & Programmes Controller to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the sales forecasting and programme accounting processes for the NW Europe region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for the NW Europe region, including the 5-year strategic plan, annual budget, and monthly rolling forecast.
  • Programme Accounting: Ensure accurate and timely programme accounting, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, WIP, and unbilled amounts.
  • Commercial Analysis: Provide commercial analysis and insights to support business decisions, including variance explanations and trend analysis.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of commercial and financial professionals to ensure the successful delivery of commercial and financial objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial and financial processes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Experience: Proven experience in commercial sales forecasting and analysis, programme accounting, and team management.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and management information systems.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with additional languages (especially Hebrew) an advantage.
