Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team at Emerson Crane Hire Ltd. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transport fleet, including planning, coordination, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Planning: Plan and coordinate transportation-related work for the business on a daily basis, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Routing and Scheduling: Develop and implement optimized routing and scheduling strategies to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including Drivers Hours Laws, STGO, and overside loads, to minimize the risk of accidents and fines.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of transportation activities.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Transport Manager, including data entry, report generation, and maintenance of transportation records.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years of practical experience in transportation management, preferably in the crane or construction industry.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good knowledge of transportation regulations, including Tachograph laws and regulations, STGO, and overside loads. Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Personal Qualities: Proactive, self-motivated, strong integrity, team player, and excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Working Hours: Generally 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing by 1 day per full year's service.
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment.
  • Salary: Between £28k and £32k dependant on experience.
