Job Summary

Fresh Direct is seeking an experienced Distribution Shift Manager to join our Transport Team in Dagenham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our 70 driver colleagues and a small team of administrators on the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Transport Manager in leading the Transport Team and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the night shift operations, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to optimize routes and schedules, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and control costs, ensuring they are in line with budgetary requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the Transport Team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Management CPC desirable
  • Strong understanding of transport compliance and regulations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
