Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a specialist school in Loughton.

About the Role:
  • Supervise and support pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented.
  • Aid the execution of education plans tailored to each pupil's learning objectives.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils and communicate effectively according to their understanding.
  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout lessons.
  • Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students.
  • Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
  • Support the physical, social, and emotional welfare of children.
About You:
  • A general understanding of the national curriculum and foundation stage.
  • Flexibility to work in various classes with pupils of different ages and needs.
  • An interest, motivation, and passion for working with special needs children and developing skills to facilitate this.
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Calm, controlled, and effective communication and relationship-building skills with children and adults.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • A high level of professionalism and the ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries.
  • Level 2 (GCSE) qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Aptitude for understanding and/or working knowledge of specialist IT software and other IT resources.
  • Willingness to develop a full working knowledge of relevant school policies, practices, and procedures.

Please note that this is a long-term, full-time position, and we are looking for candidates who can commit to 5 days a week between 8:30am-15:30pm. All applicants will require the necessary qualifications and training for this role.
