PfAL Social Work Practitioner

Preparing for Adult Life (PfAL) Service
Adult Social Services

We have two available positions. One role will involve managing a caseload that may span the county, while the other will focus on leading our Duty Social Work functions. The work location will be determined with the successful candidate, and our staff operate on a hybrid working model.

The Preparing for Adult Life (PfAL) Service is dedicated to ensuring that young individuals transitioning into Adult Social Care receive comprehensive and cohesive support.

Candidates should possess the ability to engage with young people facing complex challenges, as well as their families. A solid understanding of the legislative framework, particularly the Care Act 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014, is essential. This role will require conducting assessments and care planning in accordance with the Care Act 2014.

Given the responsibilities and expectations associated with this position, we seek applicants who hold a recognized professional qualification in Social Work.

If you are passionate about delivering person-centered care and possess the skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across education, health, and social services, ensuring a coordinated and consistent Preparing for Adult Life experience, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Benefits of working with Norfolk County Council:

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous holiday entitlement with options to buy and sell leave
  • Health and Wellbeing services, including fast-track physiotherapy and complimentary counseling
  • Flexible working arrangements, including options for part-time, remote, and hybrid work based on job role and business needs
  • Financial benefits such as relocation expenses for eligible Fire Service and Social Care Workers, advance travel expense payments, and a Local Government Pension Scheme with substantial employer contributions, life assurance, and dependants' pensions.
  • Incentives for referring candidates to hard-to-fill positions and tax-efficient options for additional pension contributions, bicycles, and electric vehicles.

We recommend reviewing the full job description to help demonstrate how you meet the necessary criteria.
