Unlock the Secrets of Cancer Immune Evasion

We are seeking an energetic and creative immunologist to join our team at Imperial College London for a CRUK-funded postdoctoral position. The project, led by Dr. Ehsan Ghorani, aims to understand how cancers evade immune destruction and what makes them sensitive to immunotherapy.

Our research focuses on gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN), a rare cancer that spreads widely yet avoids immune rejection. We have unique access to GTN samples through the world's largest clinic at Imperial and will validate key concepts using samples from common cancers in two large UK immunotherapy clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead work characterising the immune response to GTN with a focus on CD4 T cells using systems immunology approaches
  • Collaborate with a team of experts in immunology, cancer, and transplantation
  • Contribute to the development of new immunotherapy strategies
Requirements:
  • PhD in immunology, cancer, transplantation, autoimmunity, or a related area
  • Strong track record and passion for researching the immune system in cancer
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
