Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements across key markets, including the UK, EU, US, and emerging markets.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all technical data, audits, and certifications.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Regulations: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring the company's compliance with global market requirements.
  • Manage Technical Data: Organise and manage all technical data, ensuring that tests and documentation are complete and compliant before product shipment.
  • Review and Approve Artwork: Review and approve all artwork to ensure it includes compliant safety text for the target markets.
  • Oversee Compliance: Oversee the compliance aspect of the project timeline, ensuring products are delivered on time and meet the required technical specifications.
  • Identify and Resolve Issues: Identify and resolve compliance-related issues swiftly, ensuring key stakeholders are informed of any potential risks.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with colleagues across departments, including working with safety assessors to obtain timely and detailed information, and ensuring that all teams are aligned and informed about compliance status.
  • Develop Compliance Processes: Take a proactive approach in developing and implementing compliance processes, with the autonomy to shape the compliance function as the company continues to grow.
Requirements:
  • Regulatory Compliance Experience: Good regulatory compliance experience, ideally within the cosmetics, fragrance, homewares or gifting industries.
  • MSDS/SDS Knowledge: Familiarity with MSDS/SDS processes is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory systems and notification portals for the UK, EU, and US markets.
  • Excel Skills: Strong Excel skills, with experience managing compliance databases and tracking metrics.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing data and documentation.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Self-Starter: A self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the compliance function.
  • UK Driving Licence: UK driving licence + access to a vehicle due to office location.
  • Team Player: A team player with a collaborative approach, ready to support, mentor, and develop junior team members as the compliance department grows.
