Forensic Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychologist to join our Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT). As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, psychologically informed care to patients with complex forensic mental health needs.
Main ResponsibilitiesOn a day-to-day basis, you will provide specialist risk assessments using structured professional judgement tools (HCR-20) and deliver clinical interventions for the SCFT clinical caseload. You will also support colleagues with a forensically minded psychological approach to care planning and risk management.
You will contribute to the development of the service and provide supervision for the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to be part of our research capacity and contribute to the growth of our Trust.
About the RoleThe Forensic service consists of several teams, including the SCFT, Forensic Link Workers, Liaison and Diversion Service, Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway, and Ash Ward. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be an integral part of this team, working closely with colleagues to provide high-quality care to patients.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Psychologist with a Doctoral degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will have significant experience of working with people with long-term mental health problems and relevant specialist CPD training in psychological therapy.
You will also have experience of teaching and training psychology to staff and other professionals, as well as working in a multi-professional/multi-agency setting. Additionally, you will have the ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, carers, and relatives.
