We are seeking a highly motivated Psychologist to provide specialist forensic psychology support for the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway (OPD).
The OPD pathway is a psychologically-led joint initiative between His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and NHS England for high-risk offenders who experience a coexisting severe personality disorder.
Key Duties- To reduce levels of re-offending
- To improve the psychological health and wellbeing of this client group
- To improve the skills, confidence and attitudes of the workforce
The role involves providing consultation to probation officers and approved premises staff, developing formulations for this client group, developing and delivering relevant training, and completing time-limited joint working with clients and probation staff.
This post requires a range of skills across competencies, including consultation, formulation, reflective practice, and training. Regular opportunities for CPD and supervision of assistants are also available.

As a Psychologist for Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to delivering high-quality care and support to our patients.
The successful candidate will have a Doctorate degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology or a Qualification as a Forensic Psychologist.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Psychologist who is passionate about Forensic Mental Health.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical supervision and experience of working with high-risk offenders.
Further training or an MSc in a relevant area is desirable.
