About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Adults Hub in West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding vulnerable adults and leading a dedicated team working across various agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on complex safeguarding enquiries, managing a varied and challenging caseload.
  • Provide professional supervision and mentorship to social workers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
  • Collaborate effectively with statutory partners, providers, and other agencies to deliver integrated and comprehensive support services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and Social Work England professional standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative practices, policies, and procedures that enhance service delivery.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager in day-to-day management and team development.
  • Support thematic improvement projects, case reviews, and audits to drive service excellence.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience as a social worker in the UK.
  • Proven track record of managing complex safeguarding cases.
  • Strong leadership and supervision skills.
  • Expertise in risk assessment, solution-focused practice, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Valid, full driving licence (essential).
