We are seeking a highly skilled Practitioner Psychologist to join our team in the Community Dementia and Older People's Mental Health Service (DOPMHs) and Opal Ward at Langley Green Hospital in Horsham and Crawley, West Sussex.

About the Role

This is a full-time Band 8a Psychology Practitioner post, with the option to consider a Band 7 preceptorship for those interested in progressing to a Band 8a post. The successful candidate will work alongside other Practitioner Psychologists, Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, and trainee Clinical Psychologists in North West Sussex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.
  • Work with people with dementia and older people with mental health problems in Horsham and Crawley, with opportunities for continuity of care across the community and acute pathway.
  • Travel across the geographical area covered by the team, with a lot of variety in the role due to the post sitting in both community and acute services.
  • Represent psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care and work with the particular client group served by the team/service.
Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology.Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment, with evidence of having received a substantial amount of clinical supervision.Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis.Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision, as well as working in different cultural contexts and representing psychology within multi-disciplinary care.What We Offer
