Position Title: Commercial Contracts Manager
Job Overview:
This role is pivotal in providing commercial insight to ensure the optimization of the Company's financial and contractual interests. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while actively managing associated risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert analysis and evaluation of customer Requests for Proposals or Tenders, offering relevant insights to stakeholders across various departments.
- Draft, negotiate, and oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of engagements, ensuring adherence to corporate governance and approval processes.
- Manage both pre and post-contract commercial administration, including risk management, compliance, and KPI maintenance.
- Negotiate preliminary agreements such as Proprietary Information Agreements and Teaming Agreements.
- Thoroughly understand contract terms and conditions, ensuring appropriate flow-down as necessary.
- Deliver tasks aimed at maximizing returns while minimizing risks.
- Identify and address any commercial risk areas with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and provide regular commercial reports as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable international laws and regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer correspondence, including proposal reviews and post-award engagements.
- Represent the company in client and supplier meetings, which may involve international travel.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to recognize commercial risks.
- Demonstrable experience in reviewing and negotiating contract terms within a commercial setting.
- Experience managing customer and subcontractor contracts.
- Willingness to undertake international travel.
- Experience in dispute resolution and a strong customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse customers across various jurisdictions, particularly in the USA.
- General knowledge of the Civil Aerospace market.
- Membership in IACCM or similar organizations is advantageous.
Educational Requirements:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Business or Law, with typically over 7 years of relevant experience in commercial management.
Note: Candidates must possess the right to work in the UK.
