Job Overview

Family Action is excited to announce the enhancement of our support services, now including specialized assistance for adult family members. We are in search of a dedicated and empathetic Clinical Team Leader to become a vital part of our organization.

At Family Action, we utilize a network of trained volunteers who possess expertise in family dynamics to assist individuals through various communication channels such as phone, text, and email. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment, address specific parenting inquiries, and offer guidance on more intricate family matters. Additionally, we facilitate ongoing support through regular interactions with our trained volunteers and counselors.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Team Leader, you will be a committed professional eager to positively impact the lives of those we serve, while ensuring that the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction are maintained.

Your role will involve:

  1. Demonstrating proven experience in integrative or person-centered therapy, along with supervision and support for a diverse group of volunteers.
  2. Collaborating closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Tier 3 Programme and Development Manager to guarantee that service users receive timely and appropriate assistance.
  3. Providing high-quality clinical supervision to volunteers, enabling the effective delivery of time-limited counseling and person-centered support services.

We currently assist over 60,000 families through more than 150 community-based services, in addition to supporting many others through national programs and grants.

Role Expectations

The Clinical Team Leader will be responsible for:

  1. Delivering exceptional clinical group supervision to volunteers engaged in adult support services, adhering to the ethical standards set by relevant professional bodies.
  2. Supporting volunteers in enhancing their skills and knowledge through clinical group supervision, focusing on time-limited counseling and support.
  3. Providing comprehensive supervision and feedback reports as required by the Tier 3 Programme and Development Manager.
  4. Managing the triage of referrals and conducting assessments for service users with complex needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support.
  5. Upholding Family Action's safeguarding policies and procedures, including timely reporting of any safeguarding or ethical concerns.
  6. Contributing to the annual appraisal process for volunteers, providing insights on their learning and development.
  7. Maintaining accurate records of clinical supervision sessions and any safeguarding issues discussed.
  8. Adapting to the needs of the service and supporting volunteers effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • A postgraduate qualification in Counseling, Psychotherapy, or Clinical Psychology, with registration from a relevant professional body.
  • A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in counseling or psychotherapy, particularly with adults facing mild to moderate mental health challenges.
  • Experience in supervising and developing staff and volunteers, ensuring positive outcomes for service users.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
