About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the Mental Health and Learning Disability Services department at Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive and specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to patients from the neurodivergent community.
  • Provide high-quality diagnostic assessment and post-diagnostic support to individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary specialist neurodevelopmental team to deliver a service in various settings within Lanarkshire.
  • Contribute to service objectives to meet national targets and ongoing service development.
  • Undertake professional development to maintain and enhance specialist skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice, demonstrating breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
  • Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Excellent team-working and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills, with effective time management skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Member of RCSLT.
  • Postgraduate leadership/management qualifications.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience within the specialist area.
  • Experience of involvement in ASD Diagnostic Process.
  • Highly specialist knowledge and extensive clinical skills, underpinned by current evidence base, acquired through in-depth experience and theoretical study of ASD.
Working Arrangements

This is a part-time post, working 18.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The salary will be pro-rata.
