About Eric Wright Water

Our ambition is to lead the industry by delivering exceptional engineering and construction services within the water sector. We prioritize the establishment of long-term partnerships with both clients and suppliers, embodying the 'Eric Wright' ethos of honesty, collaboration, and non-adversarial engagement. Our project delivery approach aligns seamlessly with our clients' standards for Health and Safety and Environmental management, adhering to the principle: 'If I cannot do it safely, I will not do it.' Clients benefit from our 'one-stop-shop' model, which encompasses project asset design, construction, installation, commissioning, handover, and ongoing maintenance and management.

The Role

This role involves coordinating with our internal design team and external suppliers throughout the estimation process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze bid specifications, drawings, and project documents to fully understand project requirements and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Engage with approved suppliers and subcontractors to gather estimated costs.
  • Perform cost analysis on alternative materials, methods, and design modifications, offering recommendations to optimize project costs while ensuring quality standards are upheld.
  • Manage the supply chain during the estimation process to meet tender submission timelines.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure alignment with expectations regarding timelines and costs.
  • Provide regular updates to the framework lead.
  • Ensure estimates align with engineering specifications as outlined in the tender inquiry.
  • Participate in site visits as necessary.
  • Complete tender sign-off and handover processes.

About You

Aligned with our values, you will possess a solid understanding of Water/Wastewater projects or a related field, although direct experience in this area is preferred but not mandatory. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience as an Estimator within the construction or utilities sector, ideally with a strong focus on Water/Wastewater.
  • A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Proficient time management skills to meet tender deadlines.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in tender preparation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
