Job Title: Research Compliance Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Research Compliance Coordinator will serve as a liaison to the University's IACUC and IBC, providing programmatic support to each committee. The successful candidate will facilitate faculty submission of materials, coordinate interactions between committees and government agencies, and perform initial review of submitted materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate faculty submission of materials to IACUC and IBC
  • Coordinate interactions between committees and government agencies
  • Perform initial review of submitted materials
  • Develop and maintain a protocol tracking database
  • Complete post-approval monitoring audits of IACUC and IBC protocols
  • Provide content for the compliance web pages
  • Support the routine function of the committees

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a related field or bachelor's degree with related experience equivalent to a master's degree
  • General knowledge of federal regulations related to the conduct of university-based, human subjects research
  • Ability to analyze written material and apply what is learned to an analysis of current University policy and/or a review of a pending proposal
  • Ability to coordinate meetings, prepare professional correspondence, and use computer software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with a range of audiences
  • Considerable professional work experience in a research compliance environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience in a research or other technical environment
  • Some experience working in a university environment
  • Some experience as an administrator in a research or other technical environment
  • Certified IRB Professional (CIP) is preferred
