Housekeeping Manager Job Description

Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team in the Highlands of Scotland.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and organized individual to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Create and maintain cleaning schedules and ensure they are followed
  • Prepare and manage budget for the housekeeping department
  • Order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
  • Train and supervise housekeeping staff
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure prompt resolution
  • Collaborate with other department managers to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, such as inventory, budgets, and employee schedules
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement best practices in the housekeeping department

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in hospitality management is a plus)
  • Proven experience as a housekeeping manager or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures and techniques
  • Good understanding of budget management and cost control
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software
