About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Procurement Specialist to join our team at Allen & York. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing waste plastic materials from suppliers across the South of England and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply of waste plastic materials.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms.
  • Inspect and assess plastic materials to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Resolve logistical problems and queries with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and prioritize your workload to meet deadlines and deliver results.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial procurement, preferably in the waste management or environmental services sector.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to inspect and assess plastic materials, with a good understanding of quality standards.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel extensively, with occasional overnight stays.
