We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Buyer and Trader to join our team at Allen & York. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing waste plastic materials from suppliers across the South of England and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply of waste plastic materials.
  • Negotiate the purchase of waste plastic materials, ensuring the best possible prices and terms.
  • Inspect and assess plastic materials to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Resolve logistical problems and queries as they arise, working closely with our operations team.
  • Travel extensively throughout the South of England and Ireland, visiting suppliers and negotiating purchases.

Requirements:

  • Proven commercial experience in the waste management or environmental services sector.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to inspect and assess plastic materials, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel extensively.
