Director of Nursing and Quality Governance

The Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective exercise of the ICB's functions, with a focus on good governance and adherence to the ICB constitution. This individual will provide strategic advice and guidance to the Executive Nurse and the ICB Board on all aspects of the ICB's statutory duties and guidance.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership and GovernanceThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will lead the senior nursing and quality team to provide high-quality clinical and professional leadership across the system. This will involve working closely with the Medical Director and the Clinical and Professional Directorate to ensure that quality and safety are embedded at all levels.
Quality Improvement and AssuranceThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will support the development and delivery of the quality framework across the ICB, with a focus on quality, safety, and patient experience. This will involve working with all providers to ensure that the ICB is able to deliver its statutory responsibilities in key areas such as CHC, SEND, and Safeguarding.
Communication and Relationship SkillsThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will ensure effective communication and relationship-building with key partner organisations across health and social care, including NHS England, local authorities, and the police. This will involve contributing to local partnership working and ensuring the highest level of professional discretion in the communication of sensitive information.
Financial ManagementThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will be responsible for the effective management of the budgets related to the nursing and quality portfolio, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
Workforce DevelopmentThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will provide senior clinical leadership to the development and delivery of the workforce education plan for nursing and midwifery across the ICS.
Equality and InclusionThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will foster a culture of equality, diversity, inclusion, and allyship, actively promoting these values in all aspects of the role.
Quality and SafetyThe Director of Nursing and Quality Governance will oversee the quality of all health services, implementing a safer just culture, safer systems, and safer care.
