We are seeking an experienced Estates and Facilities Officer to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our Estates services, ensuring that our facilities are maintained in a safe and compliant condition for patients, staff, and visitors.
Main Responsibilities- Operational Management: The post holder will be responsible for the effective monitoring of Estates Engineering services, including supporting the activity of the divisional auditor, maintaining standard operating procedures, and ensuring agreed quality standards are maintained.
- Facilities Management: The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our Estates services, including supervising the maintenance of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: The post holder will work closely with other departments, including Maintenance Management, to ensure a seamless Estates Engineering management service is maintained at all times.
- Decision Making: The post holder will be responsible for making operational decisions and providing routine advice across all aspects of Estates Engineering management, including electrical/mechanical services, associated PPM, minor works, backlog, reactive work, insurance inspections compliance, training, and technical documentation.
- Education/Qualifications: Operational Management HNC/D in an engineering discipline, experience in a related supervisory or management role, or the ability to demonstrate an aptitude for management.
- Experience: Experience in managing Estates Engineering contracts, able to evidence continued professional development and postgraduate study to Diploma level or demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Knowledge: Extensive operational and technical knowledge of Estates Engineering related functions, understanding of budget management, recharging mechanisms, life cycle costs, and short-term tenancy agreements.
- Skills: Literate in IT/computer skills, good oral communication skills, able to effectively prioritize own workload and that of others, strong operational planning skills, and emotionally resilient to competing demands within the organization and local health economy.
