About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at British Airways, specializing in Cloud Cost Optimization. As a key member of our IT Finance team, you will play a crucial role in streamlining our cloud infrastructure and maximizing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the IT Finance team with financial data, analysis, reporting, and planning to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Drive new processes and tooling in relation to Technology Business Management (IT activity cost tracking) and FinOps (cloud spending and usage).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and technology, to drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and track cloud costs.
  • Work with cloud service providers to negotiate pricing and contracts.
  • Monitor cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and trends to identify areas for optimization.
Requirements
  • Strong background in finance and accounting.
  • Experience in analyzing cloud spend data to identify opportunities to optimize and presenting these to budget owners/key stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with Cloud Architects, DevOps teams, and Finance professionals to ensure cloud spend and consumption are aligned to business objectives and financial goals.
  • Experience in the definition and creation of processes, systems, and relationships to drive data and insights.
  • Experience developing financial dashboards and reports for multiple audience levels, including senior management and Executive.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining FinOps practices and methodologies, including knowledge of cost optimization frameworks.
  • Experience in the use of FinOps tools and platforms.
