Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safeguarding and Child Protection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our service users, while also providing support and guidance to our staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and implement safeguarding policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the safeguarding team to improve Child Protection and Safeguarding practices.
  • Provide practical support and assistance to staff and volunteers on child protection and safeguarding matters.
  • Liaise with external professionals, such as local authorities and multi-agency teams, to support staff and young people's welfare.
  • Maintain accurate records of all recording and reporting requirements related to child protection and safeguarding matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest legislation, guidance, and thresholds on child protection and safeguarding.
  • Be a central point of contact for safeguarding matters for internal and external individuals and agencies.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings related to safeguarding.
  • Raise awareness of safeguarding knowledge and practice through the delivery of routine briefings to staff.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to service users on safeguarding themes.
  • Deliver Safeguarding and Child Protection training for staff and volunteers.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject, such as safeguarding, health/social care, or education.
  • Experience of working with professionals in a safeguarding capacity.
  • Experience of providing safeguarding/child protection information, advice, and guidance to support professionals working with service users.
  • Experience of providing safeguarding/child protection information, advice, and guidance to service users.
  • Experience in information monitoring, evaluating, and reporting.
  • Knowledge around safeguarding legislation.
  • Passion for facilitating staff to keep young people safe from harm.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office package.
