About the Role

The Data Governance Manager plays a pivotal role within the Data and Analytics Team at WaterAid. This position collaborates closely with the Data Protection Manager, Head of Global Cyber Security, and data teams to establish and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that supports WaterAid's data strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data governance activities, develop procedures and standards, and ensure adherence to data governance best practices.
  • Work with the Data Protection Manager to promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data catalogues, metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics.
  • Implement data quality management processes to resolve data quality issues and ensure continuous improvement in data management practices.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data governance best practices.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a proven track record in data governance or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in SQL (structured query language) and Business Intelligence tools to analyze and present data.
  • Experience of managing data in a cloud environment.
