About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker at George Mackenzie House, a low secure unit providing development opportunities in the Recovery focused care of male and female adults experiencing difficulties associated with a range of acute often long-standing mental health illnesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Undertake tasks under the general supervision of a nurse, including assisting in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Be involved in the delivery and coordination of ward activities.
  • Work a shift pattern, utilizing electronic Healthroster system to make requests for shift leave and training requirements.
  • Support nursing staff with the completion of physical health monitoring and encouraging, supporting patients to achieve their optimum health.
  • Work with the team to undertake duties to ensure the unit remains a secure, safe place to be.
