About the Role

The NHS England is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Specialist to join our team as a Health and Justice Programme Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of public health practice, leading on the commissioning of healthcare services for individuals in contact with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide public health expertise to inform the commissioning of healthcare services in secure and detained settings, as well as in the community.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including NHS England, local authorities, and law enforcement agencies, to develop and implement effective public health strategies.
  • Lead on the analysis and evaluation of public health data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including health and social care commissioners, service providers, and academic and third sector organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and guidance on public health issues related to the criminal justice system.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in public health or a related field, with significant experience in public health practice.
  • Substantial experience of working in public health or a related field, with a strong understanding of epidemiology, statistics, and health promotion.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience of leading teams and managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering results.
