About the Role

The NHS England is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Health and Justice Programme Manager. This role will play a crucial part in the organization's efforts to improve the health and well-being of people in contact with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide public health expertise to support the commissioning of healthcare services in secure and detained settings.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and partners to understand and address the health needs of people in contact with the criminal justice system.
  • Lead on core public health analytical and evaluation functions, including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
  • Collaborate with the national Health and Justice team and representatives of the Devolved Administrations.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification.
  • Experience of working in public health or a related field at a senior level.
  • Substantial knowledge and expertise in epidemiology, statistics, and population health.
  • Excellent data analytical and IT skills, including use of databases and statistical packages.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently.
