The Registered Manager will hold the ultimate accountability for overseeing the management and direction of the Children's Home, ensuring that exceptional standards of care are maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
This role is pivotal in guaranteeing that young individuals receive outstanding emotional and physical support within a secure, nurturing, and comfortable environment. The focus will be on fostering a supportive staff team that empowers young people and provides enriching experiences that reinforce the significance of a fulfilling childhood.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage staff and resources to achieve superior service standards within the home, consistently surpassing regulatory expectations.
- Oversee the financial management of the home, ensuring sustainability and adherence to key performance indicators related to personnel, quality, and overall performance.
- Ensure all staff members comprehend their roles and responsibilities, enabling them to perform their duties to the highest standards.
- Maintain compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with local authority representatives and other professionals to meet their requirements effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for statutory and case reviews, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Implement quality assurance measures to evaluate individual and team performance, supporting continuous improvement.
- Recruit and retain high-caliber staff who embody the organization's values and deliver consistently high-quality services.
- Foster a culture of engagement through effective leadership, coaching, and communication.
- Manage colleague schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all operational needs.
- Encourage a collaborative approach with young people, their families, and other agencies involved in their care.
- Ensure that the well-being of young individuals is prioritized at all times, facilitating their access to necessary medical and ancillary care.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of the statutory requirements related to the residential care of young people, including relevant regulations and health and safety legislation. A management qualification equivalent to a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People is required, along with a minimum of two years of managerial experience in a children's residential setting.
Working Environment
The role may involve addressing the educational and social challenges faced by young individuals, which can be emotionally and physically demanding. Ongoing training in various areas, including child protection and health and safety, will be necessary.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: Up to £55,000.00 per year, with additional benefits including a company pension and performance bonuses.
