Safeguarding & Welfare Officer Job Description

FIND Recruitment Group LTD is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding & Welfare Officer to join our team. As a specialist staffing business, we service the Skills, Learning & Apprenticeship markets across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead safeguarding efforts for children, young people, and vulnerable adults enrolled in apprenticeship programs.
  • Respond to concerns in a timely and appropriate manner, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the Key Point of Contact (KPOC) for safeguarding and prevent, collaborating with the DSL and external agencies as needed.
  • Regularly report to the contract leadership team and customer to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all learners is prioritized.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Raise standards of safeguarding practice through employee training and monitoring.
  • Develop and present accurate safeguarding data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct safeguarding reviews with the program management team.
  • Foster a positive culture of safeguarding and wellbeing for learners, customers, employers, and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality audits.
  • Proactively promote welfare topics to apprentices through various activities.
Key Relationships:
  • External: Customers, Employers & Learners, Safeguarding networks, agencies, local authorities, and third sector organizations.
  • Internal: Other Safeguarding & Welfare Leads, Key account stakeholders, Operational Delivery Teams, Apprenticeship Services, Safeguarding Designated Persons (DPs), and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in safeguarding within a secondary or post-16 environment, including policy development and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of child protection frameworks and experience working with multi-agency partners.
  • Demonstrable experience in preventing exploitation and abuse of children and vulnerable adults, alongside the Prevent Strategy and British Values.
  • Experience in solving complex issues collaboratively with key decision makers.
