Position: Lead Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Liverpool

Torque Consulting is actively looking for a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join a prestigious global organization located in the Liverpool region. This company specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering solutions and large-scale projects for clients worldwide. The role encompasses all phases of project execution, from initial feasibility studies and specifications to design, procurement, installation, and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Duties


• Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to create complete electrical system designs.


• Oversee the generation of design deliverables, including Substation, MCC, and control panel design packages.

Procurement Responsibilities


• Manage the technical aspects of equipment procurement and the tendering process for installation contracts.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards


• Lead initiatives to uphold the company’s environmental, health, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies to foster a safe working environment and minimize environmental impact.

Project Management


• Schedule and plan contract design activities to meet project timelines.

Technical Support


• Provide expert technical assistance for electrical and control systems following installation at manufacturing sites.

Required Experience:


• Design expertise in Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems.


• Proficiency in Protection Settings and Fault Level Determination.


• Experience in MCC/Control Panel Design.


• Comprehensive Installation Design capabilities.


• On-Site Commissioning experience.


• Knowledge of Electrical and Machinery Safety protocols.


• Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing procedures.


• Skills in Project Cost and Planning Control or Management.

Desirable Skills:


• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).


• Practical knowledge of Amtech (Trimble) software.


• Understanding of HMI/SCADA systems.


• On-Site Installation Management experience.


• Knowledge of Variable Speed Drive applications.


• Experience in conducting Feasibility Studies and Budget Preparation.


• Previous roles in a responsible position within an industrial setting.
