Job Summary:

The Maine Group is seeking an experienced Interim Policy, Public Affairs and Advocacy Manager to join our team on a temporary basis. As a key member of our Public Affairs team, you will be responsible for delivering direct advocacy to Prospective Parliamentary Candidates, providing analysis of election results, and preparing advocacy asks and messaging for the next government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Direct Advocacy: Utilize the organization's manifesto to engage with Prospective Parliamentary Candidates and promote our organization's interests.
  • Provide Election Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of election results and prepare welcome materials for new Government and incoming ministers.
  • Prepare Advocacy Asks: Develop and implement advocacy asks and messaging for the next government, including the 'first 100 days in government'.
  • Map Out Immediate Actions: Identify and prioritize immediate actions required in relation to All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs).
  • Provide Advocacy Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for advocacy and election-related queries, responding to organizational needs and updates for commercial partners as required.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have good parliamentary advocacy experience and a strong understanding of the run-up to an election. You should be able to start immediately and commit to covering this role for at least the next 3-4 weeks.
