We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Financial Operations Manager (CIMA, ACCA or AAT) who will oversee the preparation of our management accounts, along with related activities and schedules. This role will involve handling VAT returns and generating additional reports and schedules for quarterly assessments and year-end audits.

This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing for 3 days in our Leyland office and 2 days of remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the management accounts team in the preparation of: Monthly management accounts (Profit & Loss and balance sheet) with comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all necessary documentation and follow-up actions are detailed. Analyze monthly expenditures and investigate variances against budget/forecast. Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts. Contribute to the production of supporting schedules for annual statutory accounts and tax submissions. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required. Support the developmental needs of 3 direct reports. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

Proven experience in a fast-paced Finance department within a diverse team environment. Previous leadership experience. A strong track record of delivering precise management accounts. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while adhering to strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills, capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Familiarity with Sage software.

Desirable Attributes:

Experience in a high-volume business setting. Ability to influence and support the development of colleagues. Background in the travel industry. Knowledge and experience with Sage X3. Experience collaborating with external auditors.
