Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team to provide exceptional learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Foster partnerships with parents and caregivers to promote their involvement in their child's growth.
  • Keep accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of children and staff within the nursery.
  • Engage actively in various nursery activities, playing and working with children.
  • Assist designated Key Persons in their responsibilities for specific children, gaining the knowledge needed to become a Key Person.

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of confidentiality in all aspects of nursery operations.
  • Experience in child care, whether through work or volunteering in a preschool or nursery setting.
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards functional skills alongside the apprenticeship.
  • Opportunity for a skills bootcamp course to accelerate apprenticeship to Level 3 for suitable candidates.

Training and Development:

Your responsibilities will be outlined by your employer. Realise will equip you with comprehensive on-the-job training, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be integrated into your work schedule. You will work towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if necessary)

This training will be provided through Realise, a reputable training provider experiencing growth and innovation.

  • Ability to maintain clear and accurate records.
  • Competence in using IT for report writing and online training.
  • Calm, caring demeanor with a composed approach.
  • Friendly, approachable, and engaging personality.

Career Prospects:

Our apprentices often progress to Level 3 practitioners, enjoying a fulfilling career in early childhood education.
