About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reinsurance Manager to join our team at Admiral Insurance Plc. As a key member of our Group Finance Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our reinsurance strategy and ensuring the effective management of our reinsurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement reinsurance strategies to mitigate risk and optimize returns.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Pricing, Risk, Claims, Product, and Underwriting teams, to understand their changing needs and develop tailored reinsurance solutions.
  • Work closely with reinsurance brokers to negotiate and place reinsurance contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze reinsurance market trends, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers, ensuring effective communication and negotiation of contract terms.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on reinsurance matters to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of our risk appetite statement and ensure alignment with our reinsurance strategy.
  • Support the Reinsurance Manager in all areas of reinsurance renewal, including data collection, documentation creation, and contract negotiation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in reinsurance or a related field, with a strong understanding of reinsurance principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
