Job Description

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Asset Management Officer. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong background in engineering and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of specialist engineering activities across the trust, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for technicians and apprentices, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Participate in the Estates out of hours on-call arrangements and undertake Authorized Person responsibilities for specific engineering systems as required.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Specialist Engineer to ensure competency is maintained across the in-house team, delivering specialist engineering training and mentoring.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in operational maintenance in a mechanical, electrical, or building services discipline.
  • Membership of a professional institution, such as IHEEM or IEE.
  • ISOH Managing Safely certification.
  • A recognized training qualification or apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical services.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Legionella awareness L8 - Responsible Person certification.
  • NEBOSH - Level 3 Certificate.
  • Appointments as an Authorized/Competent person.
  • Experience working with computer-aided facility management systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of healthcare engineering services.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to address complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-estates professionals.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized approach to work.
  • Strong IT/PC skills.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work at various sites across the trust, including Leicester Royal Infirmary. They will be expected to participate in the Estates out of hours on-call arrangements and undertake Authorized Person responsibilities for specific engineering systems as required.
