Position Overview: We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate in the field of stellar astrophysics to contribute to a UKRI-funded project. This role involves engaging in asteroseismic modeling of massive stars to determine their characteristics, including mass, age, and internal rotation profiles.
Project Details: The successful candidate will join a dynamic astrophysics group with expertise spanning galaxy evolution, cosmology, and magnetohydrodynamic simulations. The focus will be on detecting and characterizing pulsating magnetic stars and conducting magnetoasteroseismic modeling to elucidate their internal magnetic structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research aligned with the project objectives.
- Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team to produce high-impact research.
- Present research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Contribute positively to the research group's culture, including mentoring students and participating in outreach activities.
- Fulfill additional duties as required, commensurate with the role.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in research outputs, such as publications and conference presentations.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
