About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Newcastle University. The successful candidate will be part of the UKRI-funded SYMPHONY project, led by Dr Dominic Bowman, and will contribute to the development of asteroseismic modelling of massive stars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research along the lines of the programme of the funded project
  • Work successfully in an interdisciplinary research team to publish world-leading research
  • Present outputs of the research to scientific and non-scientific audiences
  • Contribute to the positive culture and general strengths of the research group
Requirements
  • PhD awarded in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent technical skills in analysing and interpreting data sets
  • A track record of high-quality research outputs related to the goals of the project
  • Excellent communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrable ability to develop research proposals in collaboration with other academics
  • Experience in creating and/or delivering activities designed to make science more accessible and inclusive
