Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to the elderly population served by PAH, with a focus on coordinated and person-centred care.
- Lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team within your ward area to deliver effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
- Create and maintain excellent working relationships with your team, management, and external agencies, including community providers and CCGs.
- Engage fully in the development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population.
- Lead on and drive forward innovations within the service area.
- Support consultant colleagues in the department in the delivery of their services as needed.
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine.
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview.
- MRCP qualification.
- Desirable: Valid ALS or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in the UK, with evidence of personal practice in all areas described by the RCP curriculum and experience of guideline appraisals.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.
