Geriatrician Consultant

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician Consultant to join our Elderly Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to the elderly population, coordinated and person-centered.
- Lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team within your ward area to deliver effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
- Create and maintain excellent working relationships with your team, management team, and external agencies such as community providers and CCGs.
- Engage fully in the development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population.
- Lead on and drive forward innovations within the service area.
- Support consultant colleagues in the department in the delivery of their services where necessary.
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine.
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview.
- MRCP.
- Valid ALS or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in UK.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.
