Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Yorkshire (Hybrid Role)

Henderson Scott is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our busy Infrastructure Team in Yorkshire. This is a hybrid role that offers the perfect blend of on-site and remote work, with a competitive salary of £55K and the opportunity to build a full infrastructure team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Business-as-Usual support to all of our IT Infrastructure, working across a range of infrastructure and security disciplines. As a key member of the Infrastructure Team, you will provide customer service to our practices, who employ over 8500 colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning escalations as the subject matter expert for BAU tickets escalated from 1st/2nd line teams.
  • Resolving complex tickets across all hardware and software platforms at a 3rd line level.
  • Managing and maintaining various tool sets and solutions around security, mail hygiene, and backups.
  • Managing 3rd party vendors to drive fault resolution and change on software/hardware issues.
  • Managing multiple managed service providers to drive fault resolution and change on hardware/software/cloud solutions.
  • Providing Infrastructure Support to the project team.
  • Proactive monitoring and maintenance of the infrastructure estate.
  • Reacting to security alerts highlighted to VP from infosec toolsets, responding to output from penetration tests to remedy vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring that build baselines are tested for reliability, functionality, and security.

Required Skills:

  • Public cloud - Microsoft Azure.
  • VMware and Hyper-V knowledge.
  • WAN, SDWAN, MPLS, FTTp/c, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Detailed understanding of TCP-IP, IP routing protocols (BGP and OSPF).
  • Detailed and working knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, Active Directory, and components, including INTUNE, group policy, and WSUS.
