Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced A&E Doctor to join our team as an Occupational Health Specialist. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of our Occupational Health and Well-being Service, providing expert clinical leadership and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and support to our Occupational Health Advisors and Technicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality occupational health services to our clients.
- Case Management: Manage complex case work, including dealing with escalated cases from our Occupational Health Advisors and Technicians.
- Health Surveillance: Monitor the health of workers who are potentially exposed to hazards at work through health surveillance programmes.
- Immunisation Programmes: Manage immunisation programmes for workplace biological hazards and for business travellers.
- Workplace Visits: Visit workplaces to advise on the provision of safe and healthy conditions by informed scientific assessment of the physical and psychological aspects of the working environment.
- Return to Work: Case manage workers who are on sick leave, working with other health professionals to ensure the earliest return of functional capacity and return to work.
- Medical Criteria: Determine whether employees satisfy the medical criteria for ill health retirement under the terms of the relevant pension fund rules.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Hold a valid GMC Registration and ideally be a Fellow or Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (F/MFOM).
- Experience: Experience working within an Occupational Health role in public and private sectors, dealing with complex case management and providing advice in relation to work on health and health on work.
- Skills: Possess good clinical diagnostic skills and understand the appropriate treatment practices, knowledge of HSE and DWP guidance on fitness for work and safety at work, ability to carry out health screening, and working understanding of relevant employment law in an occupational health context.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent Communication skills, good people skills, and the ability to build relationships with our clients and their employees.
