Job Opportunity: Specialist Occupational Therapist (FTC 12 Months)

Location: Leeds

Salary: £35,392 to £42,618 DOE

Hours: 35 Hours per week

About the Role

The Specialist Occupational Therapist will be an integral part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working within a neurobehavioral model to deliver person-centred, evidence-based rehabilitation. The position is based in a unique community-based inpatient setting, led by a consultant neuropsychologist with a psychological approach.

Service users may present with complex and challenging needs, including cognitive, behavioural, physical, and emotional difficulties following brain injury. The role provides the opportunity to work holistically with service users, supporting them in regaining maximum independence and participating in social, leisure, and vocational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred, evidence-based rehabilitation to service users with complex and challenging needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised rehabilitation plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and risk assessments to inform rehabilitation planning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support service users in regaining maximum independence and participating in social, leisure, and vocational activities.
  • Provide training and supervision to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in occupational therapy and registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong skills in prioritising and managing a complex caseload.
  • Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
  • Capability to formulate complex risk assessments.
  • Experience in supervising and training others.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
